The first lovely weekend of Spring

Spring is finally here in Melbourne, and the weather this weekend has been spectacular. I had headed down to Silvan on Saturday afternoon for a brief gander at the Tesselaar Tulip Festival. I was curious about what all the to-do about the festival was all about. It turns out that the Tesselaar Tulip Festival is held at one of the largest Tulip Farms in this part of Victoria. The festival runs throughout September and October and is founded on Turkish and Dutch themes celebrating the flower in its many different colours and forms.

I was not the only one there. The tulip festival had attracted lots of people with their children and their dogs to come and take in the sheer beauty of the numbers of these flowers which were in full bloom. The environment made for an excellent opportunity to shoot some time-lapse video.

If you’re local to Melbourne, or happen to be visiting and heading towards the Yarra Valley, I highly recommend a brief stop at the festival.
